HowTheLightGetsIn Festival
The World's Largest Music and Philosophy Festival
Join us from the 22nd to the 25th May 2026!
Mind-expanding ideas, soul-tingling sounds, and eye-watering laughs - don't lose out on an unmissable weekend of musical discovery and intellectual exploration.

We're excited to announce our continued involvement with the 'How the Light Gets in' festival.
Whilst now a nationally recognised hub for cultural and intellectual exchange, the festival first started here at the Globe and remains tied to our arts centre through our shared founder Hilary Lawson. The festival takes place on a biannual basis, in both London and our very own Hay-on-Wye.
With 300 events in one weekend, we're confident you'll find something that interests you, whether it’s a late-night party or a talk from one of the world's leading professionals in philosophy, politics, science and much more.
